The Devil Wears Prada | Perfect Pair

Regular price $10.50

The Devil Wears Prada is a super fun chunky shape glitter dip powder. Black high heels, red lips, and red hearts mixed in the gorgeous white with red shimmer base, which we named Miranda Priestly. (Check out some of the other colors we like with this duo!)

We're changing the way you do chunky glitter! The Devil Wears Prada is the chunky shape glitter and it comes with 1/4 oz jar of Miranda Priestly. We're going to give it to you straight - The Devil Wears Prada was a little more difficult to use than regular chunky shape glitter dip powders.

At first.

Then we figured out the solution! The problem was, if you tried to apply just the base color only for your first layer like we recommend you do for our other chunky glitter shape dips, it wasn't working. The shapes followed the powder, and you would end up with a very thick and chunky nail, because the glitter shapes built up on each layer. The other problem with this is the gorgeous white dip powder would cover up the glitter shapes from each layer, and it just didn't look that great. By including a separate jar of the base color, now you can apply this chunky glitter dip powder just like you do the rest of our chunky shape glitter powders!

*In addition to being able to easily apply this chunky shape glitter, the 2 powders also make up a perfect pair! Miranda Priestly is the exact same base powder we mix the glitter shapes in, so it really is a perfect match.

THE BEST WAY TO APPY THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA - STEP BY STEP

  • Apply 1-2 layers of Miranda Priestly using your normal dip application method. Dust off excess dip powder once you're satisfied with your application (Miranda Priestly only).
  • Pour the entire jar of The Devil Wears Prada into a cupcake liner.
  • Apply base coat to your nail and place your fingernail directly onto the powder. At this point some of the chunky glitter shapes should have stuck to your nail. (You can choose to do the pour over method instead, but usually a lesser amount of shapes end up sticking to the nail.) Don't worry if you didn't get enough of the shapes on your nail for this round. We'll take care of that in the next round. Dust off excess powder.
  • Move any of the shapes that you aren't happy with. Use a dotting tool, orangewood stick or toothpick to manually move around the pieces until you are satisfied with their placement. Use a plastic baggy to press down on the glitter shapes so they adhere to the nail better.
  • Using tweezers, pluck out various shapes from the cupcake liner that you want to use. Place them in a separate cupcake liner, for easy access.
  • Apply a layer of base to your entire nail. Using your dotting tool, orangewood stick, or toothpick, dab the end into the base painted on your nail, and then pick up a glitter shape from the cupcake liner. Manually place any shape you want, anywhere on your nail. Try to move quickly, so the basecoat doesn't dry.
  • If your base coat dries, just reapply basecoat where needed. Continue this until all the glitter shape pieces you want are where you want.
  • Once you are done with the application, apply activator just like normal.
  • We highly recommend encapsulating The Devil Wears Prada with builder gel, as opposed to clear dip powder. Clear dip powder will work, but the amount of work it will take to encapsulate with powder vs builder gel is astronomical. Don't say we didn't warn you!
  • After encapsulating, wipe the tacky layer off and then shape and file. There may be some work involved with this step, but it's worth it.
  • Top coat, oil up, and enjoy your beautiful mani! (Make sure you show her off in our Facebook group!)
