How To Use Dip Nailed It Dip Liquids

Dip Nailed It Dip Liquids

Dip liquids have been known to give users grief. Even though our Dip Liquids don’t contaminate as easily, follow the steps below to ensure you have the most success as possible with our dip liquids.

Step 1 - Base Coat

After prepping your nails, apply a thin coat of Base to your nail, ensuring even coverage. Apply dip powder with your preferred method (dip, pour over, etc). Wait at least one minute for it to dry. Once dry, dust off excess powder. Repeat until desired opaqueness and thickness is achieved.

Step 2 - Activator

After your last application is dry and you have dusted off the excess powder, apply Activator generously to your nail. Activator hardens the dip powder, and also is necessary for the Top coat to dry. It’s very important not to skip this step. Let the Activator dry before filing, shaping and buffing your nails. At least 30 seconds. Apply a second application after you file and wash your hands. This will help the top coat to dry properly. Wait until the activator is dry before moving onto the next step. *If you do not file/buff/wash your hands, one application is sufficient.

Step 3 – Top Coat

After your nails are filed and shaped how you want them, and buffed if necessary, and your application of activator is dry, apply 3 thick but quick swipes of Top to your nails. Move in a swift motion, letting the brush float across the nail (the thicker coat helps with this). Do not worry if it’s not perfect. Wipe your brush on a clean paper towel or rag before dipping the brush back into the bottle. This will help avoid contamination of the liquid. Wait for 30 seconds-1 minute, until your top coat looks like it’s shrinking (think shrink wrap). Now you can go in for your final coat. Use a thicker coat for the final layer, as well. Take your time with this coat, and make sure you are detailed in your application. Wait 3-4 minutes for the second layer to dry. That’s it!

*For best results, use thicker coats for the Top coat. Thinner coats will still work, but the shine may not be as glassy.
